This 36-contact hour program can be completed in under two months and culminates in a certificate of completion.

Learning & Development Director Jessica Lombard

Jessica Lombard is the Learning and Development Director for the San Antonio Area Foundation. Her career includes over a decade of leadership experience, development, and leading teams within project & change management. She also has a decade of service in nonprofit work, where she served San Antonio’s youth as a youth minister. She is an experienced communicator who has a passion to help South Texas non-profits develop their teams and resources to build a positive impact on our community. Jessica strives to help and encourage others to achieve their goals at developing their non-profit missions and capacity. When not serving our great San Antonio community, you can find Jessica supporting her daughters with Volleyball or Drill team.

Learning & Development Manager Rachel Duran

Rachel Duran is a valued member of the Learning and Development team at the San Antonio Area Foundation. She has varied experience ranging from accounting to executive administrative support. She found her passion in supporting people and earned her degree in Human Resources management in 2015. Rachel is also a SHRM Certified Professional. She has served the Area Foundation in our HRLD department since 2016 and now serves as our Learning and Development Manager. Rachel is most passionate about her faith, and she loves learning. She takes interest in wellness, creative writing, is a voracious reader, loves languages and learning about other cultures. When Rachel is not busy learning, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.

Learning and Development Specialist Renee Carta

Renee Carta is the Learning and Development Specialist at the San Antonio Area Foundation. She joined the organization in 2019 as the Front Desk Assistant, where she provided dedicated support to nonprofit members and staff. With over a decade of experience in administrative roles and customer service, Renee is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and reach their full potential. As the L&D Specialist, Renee supports all Learning and Development programs to enhance nonprofit skills, performance, and productivity. She focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning and ensuring the community has the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in their roles. Renee currently oversees the Reggie Williams Resource Library, holds Candid Expert Certification, and manages the San Antonio Area Foundation Membership program. Outside of work, Renee enjoys reading and collecting books, watching films, and spending quality time with her husband and two boys.

How to receive Certificate? When does Certificate Begin? Etc.

1. This certificate program will be administered in person. Please refer to the schedule in the welcome email to save class dates.

2. Orientation is March 18th, from 10 am to 12 pm in-person. 

The first class will begin March 25th, from 9 am to 12:00 pm. and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

3. This certificate program is for $860 (Note an additional fee is added when using the payment plan) 

4. Upon completion of the certificate program, an electronic certificate will be sent out 7-10 business days after the final class.

Refund/ Credit Policy

  • The San Antonio Area Foundation has a no refund policy.

    If a workshop and/or class has been unexpectedly cancelled and/or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit towards another workshop and/or class will be issued. If a registrant is unable to attend a workshop and/or class, a substitute may be sent or a credit may be issued. No credits will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours before a workshop and/or class.
