Course Outcomes
- Participants will learn which financial statements are contained in an audit, what unrestricted, temporarily restricted, and permanently restricted funds are, how they are presented in financial statements, and what the rules are for using them.
- Participants will understand the importance of making budgets that show monthly activity, when to consider multi-year budgets, and how to build consensus when building a budget.
- Participants will learn the major components of Form 990 and how donors use the form to determine which organizations to support.

- Light refreshments, including coffee and snacks, will be offered during class.
- This class welcomes Nonprofit Management Program participants, CEOs, CFOs, Executive Directors, Board Members and Treasurers, Development and Fundraising Professionals, Program Managers, and Finance and Accounting Staff.

If a Course Is Cancelled or Postponed by the Area Foundation
If a workshop or class is unexpectedly cancelled or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit toward another workshop or class will be issued.

If You Can’t Attend and Want to Send a Substitute
If you are unable to attend a workshop or class, you may send a substitute in your place. Please contact the Learning and Development team at [email protected] in advance and provide their information so we can complete their enrollment.

Refund Policy for Cancellations by Registrants
If you are unable to attend and would like a refund, please notify the Learning and Development team at [email protected] at least 72 hours before the course begins. A $15 administrative fee will be deducted from your refund.
