Learn and Grow with Us!

Thursday, October 17th from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Virtual)

This two-part course will help equip you and your organization to embrace the power of human diversity and to learn how to integrate DEI into your organization’s practices, policies, and programming. Part 2 builds on the DEI theory and concepts covered in Part 1 of this course. Part 2's emphasis is on putting DEI theory into practice.

Meet Your Expert Speaker

Learning and Development Facilitator, Ph.D. Dorian Williams, Sr., Ph.D.

Dorian Williams is a San Antonio native and Judson High School football/track standout, who went on to run collegiate track at UTSA. After a 24-year career in aviation, Williams retired from the Air Force with the rank of lieutenant colonel where he was commissioned as the Air Force’s first African-American aerospace physiologist. He went on to earn three master’s degrees and a doctoral degree. Williams has multi-dimensional expertise in executive coaching, educational development, career planning, strategic planning, and is a learning facilitation expert. Additionally, he holds certifications in instructional coaching, curriculum development, project management, and instructional design.

Your Learning Roadmap

Course Outcomes

1. Applying DEI Theory, students will evaluate selected organization's programming, website, and other forms of digital media for exclusive and inclusive language, ADA accommodation, and representation.

2. Using the results from their pre-selected Implicit Bias Test, students will discuss the potential DEI implications (and prevention strategies) through the power and privilege lens.

3. Learners will put DEI Theory into practice by participating in two highly- complex, instructor-led case scenarios framed around varying levels and types of inequity.

4. Using the Meyers DEI Spectrum Tool, students will use DEI Theory to conduct a high-level DEI needs assessment and how to analyze the results against current DEI policies and processes.
