This interactive afternoon session builds on insights from Part 1: Understanding Generative AI for Nonprofits and focuses on the craft of data storytelling. Participants will learn how to transform complex data into compelling narratives that drive action and highlight impact. Through hands-on activities, attendees will explore practical techniques and AI-powered tools to enhance nonprofit communications and make data more accessible, engaging, and persuasive.

Meet Your Expert Speaker

Ph.D. Sue Hum

Sue Hum is Professor of English at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She specializes in digital literacy, visual rhetoric, and writing enriched curricula. She is co-principal investigator of over $1,800,000 in funded projects from the National Science Foundation, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. She is author of Persuading with Numbers: A Primer for Engaging Quantitative Information, (Kona, 2017) and co-editor of Open Words: Access and English Studies.

  • If a Course Is Cancelled or Postponed by the Area Foundation

    If a workshop or class is unexpectedly cancelled or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit toward another workshop or class will be issued.

  • If You Can’t Attend and Want to Send a Substitute

    If you are unable to attend a workshop or class, you may send a substitute in your place. Please contact the Learning and Development team at [email protected] in advance and provide their information so we can complete their enrollment.

  • Refund Policy for Cancellations by Registrants

    If you are unable to attend and would like a refund, please notify the Learning and Development team at [email protected]. All refunds are subject to a $15 administrative fee. Refunds are not available within 72 hours of the course start time.
