Associate Professor Teresa Harrison, Ph.D.

Dr. Teresa Harrison is a Professor of Management in the H-E-B School of Business and Administration at UIW and Co-Director of the Beckendorf Family Center for Innovation and Global Entrepreneurship. She is the 2025–2026 recipient of the UIW Moody Professorship Award. Dr. Harrison teaches Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She co-organizes UIW’s startup and pitch competitions and secured a grant to develop entrepreneurship curriculum. Her initiatives include student-led pop-up marketplaces, social entrepreneurship, and scholarly research. She also coordinates a business speaker series and resource fair for students, alumni, and the San Antonio community. Her service includes committee work, UIW Meet the Mission, dissertation committees, and advising the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization. She was named UIW Business Club Advisor of the Year in 2017. Dr. Harrison’s research focuses on entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, e-recruiting, and immigrant workplace adaptation. Her work appears in top journals such as Journal of Management and Human Resource Management Review. She presents at national conferences and is a member of the Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, Management & Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Her expert commentary has been featured on The National Desk, KENS 5, San Antonio Report, and San Antonio Express-News.

Professor Emeritus Mark Teachout, Ph.D.

Mark S. Teachout, PhD, is Professor Emeritus, University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, TX. He has taught Management, International Management, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, Leading Change, Organizational Consulting, Capstone, and Business Statistics at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Earlier, he was the Assistant Vice President of Learning and Performance Solutions, at USAA, and a Senior Scientist at the USAF Research Lab where he received the Scientific Achievement Award for outstanding research. He is an HR, training, and OD & Leadership consultant, with 35+ years of combined experience. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Old Dominion University. He has taught and conducted research internationally, at John Cabot University, Rome, at the European Study Center in Heidelberg, and at IMC University of Applied Sciences, Krems, Austria, where he was awarded the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Grant.

Refund/Credit Policy

  • The San Antonio Area Foundation has a no refund policy.

    If a workshop and/or class has been unexpectedly cancelled and/or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit towards another workshop and/or class will be issued. If a registrant is unable to attend a workshop and/or class, a substitute may be sent or a credit may be issued. No credits will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours before a workshop.
