HOLT Values-Based Leadership™ Fellows Program

Program Description

The HOLT Values-Based Leadership™ Fellows Program is a unique, interactive leadership development program for 501(c)(3) executives. The program provides training to nonprofit CEOs, from those new to the role to seasoned executives, as well as senior-level leaders poised for executive leadership. Senior-level leaders include those in roles who report directly to the CEO, manage a departmental budget and oversee staff.

The curriculum for the 9-month program centers around the HOLT’s Values Based Leadership™ model and other proven leadership concepts developed and implemented by HOLT CAT over the last 30 years. Other local experts provide training in communication, strategic planning, diversity, equity and inclusion and more.

Applications are due by July 20th.  Selected participants will be notified by mid August.

Cohort Coordinators

President of Holt Development Services, Inc., Guy Clumpner

Guy Clumpner is president of Holt Development Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Holt CAT, the largest U.S. Caterpillar dealer. Clumpner’s 42-year career at Holt includes over three decades of executive leadership in HR, safety, training, organizational and leadership development, and continuous improvement. Clumpner has been instrumental in the creation and evolution of Holt’s unique "Values Based Leadership™” (VBL) model, launched in 1988. Notable clients include the San Antonio Spurs, Bank of San Antonio, Sacramento Kings, UTSA, and others. Since 2015, Clumpner & Holt Development Services, Inc. have partnered with the Area Foundation to offer HOLT Values Based Leadership Fellows training, which has been attended by over 130 leaders in the San Antonio non-profit community.

Learning & Development Director Jessica Lombard

Jessica Lombard is the Learning and Development Director for the San Antonio Area Foundation. Her career includes over a decade of leadership experience, development, and leading teams within project & change management. She also has a decade of service in nonprofit work, where she served San Antonio’s youth as a youth minister. She is an experienced communicator who has a passion to help South Texas non-profits develop their teams and resources to build a positive impact on our community. Jessica strives to help and encourage others to achieve their goals at developing their non-profit missions and capacity. When not serving our great San Antonio community, you can find Jessica supporting her daughters with Volleyball or Drill team.

Refund/Credit Policy

  • The San Antonio Area Foundation has a no refund policy.

    If a workshop and/or class has been unexpectedly cancelled and/or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit towards another workshop and/or class will be issued. If a registrant is unable to attend a workshop and/or class, a substitute may be sent or a credit may be issued. No credits will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours before a workshop.

FAQ's

  • Am I required to attend the Orientation?

    Orientation is part of the program, and we highly encourage attendance.

  • What will the orientation session cover?

    The orientation will set expectations for participants and is a perfect forum to begin to network with peers in the program.

  • What is the format of the class?

    All sessions (with the exception of the orientation) will be in-person and location will be announced in advance.

  • Will the sessions be recorded if I have to miss?

    Only our orientation will be recorded as this is the only session that will be virtual.

  • How many sessions can be missed?

    This is an interactive course that requires participant attention. Fellows can miss no more than two class days (i.e. 12 contact hours) to complete the program and earn a certificate.
