Organizations that have a clear mission and goals, strong leadership, financial stability, effective programs and services, and strong relationships can create a strong foundation for fundraising success. Diversifying funding sources can also benefit nonprofit organizations by reducing dependency on a single source of funding, increasing financial stability, improving relationships with
donors, expanding the organization's reach, and building organizational capacity. Examples of creative and entrepreneurial ways other organizations are diversifying their funding sources can inspire nonprofits to identify their own revenue streams to diversify their funding.

Founder & CEO, Ascend Nonprofit & Business Solutions LLC Arlene Siller, Ph.D
Arlene Siller is the Founder and CEO of Ascend Nonprofit & Business Solutions (NBS) in San Antonio, Texas. Ascend NBS has raised over $25 million since 2019 for multiple nonprofit organizations helping them fund their mission. Arlene is a trainer for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Established & Ready to Grow Program, the Kronkosky Foundation, the Small Business Administration’s T.H.R.I.V.E. executive-level training program and is a featured trainer on numerous other platforms with other agencies.
Program Objectives
1. Participants will learn how having a clear mission and goals, strong leadership, financial stability, effective programs and services, and strong relationships can help create a strong foundation for fundraising success.
2. Learn the benefits of diversifying funding sources for nonprofit organizations, such as reducing dependency on a single source of funding, increasing financial stability, improving relationships with donors, expanding reach, and building organizational capacity.
3. Gain inspiration from examples of creative and entrepreneurial ways other organizations are diversifying their funding sources, and apply these learnings to their own organization to identify new revenue streams and diversify their funding sources.

Who Should Take This Program and How Long is the Program Itself?
1. General nonprofit development staff, volunteers and anyone interested in learning more about nonprofit fundraising.
2. This one-day program will be held Thursday, May 9th from 9am-4pm In- Person.
3. Participants will earn a certificate upon completion of the program (E-Certificates are distributed5-7 business days after the program).

Refund/Credit Policy

The San Antonio Area Foundation has a no refund policy.
If a workshop and/or class has been unexpectedly cancelled and/or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit towards another workshop and/or class will be issued. If a registrant is unable to attend a workshop and/or class, a substitute may be sent or a credit may be issued. No credits will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours before a workshop.
